How to Apply for SSI

Everyone has a different experience when applying for SSI (Supplemental Security Income). Some people are approved for benefits right away; most are not. In order to successfully apply for SSI applicants must be prepared to devote a great deal of time to the process due to the massive amount of paperwork and government red tape involved.

The 10-page application for SSI requires information on where you were born, your citizenship status, living arrangements, income, additional resources you may have access to (including vehicles, insurance policies, food stamps, savings and checking accounts, stocks, bonds, and trusts), and more. It can be a lot of information to fill out, especially if you are disabled. But at Binder & Binder®, you don't have to worry about dealing with the government. We do it for you.

At Binder & Binder® our Social Security Disability advocates will help you understand SSI disability qualifications and requirements so you'll know if you're eligible to receive benefits. For most people, the medical requirements for disability payments are the same for both Social Security Disability and SSI, and disability is determined by the same process. We can help determine which program would be more beneficial for you or your family. We will help you understand the amount of benefits you may receive, and we can answer any other questions you might have about SSI eligibility.

We will guide you through the application process and help you apply for SSI. Even if you have already tried to apply for SSI disability benefits online and your application was denied, we will appeal the decision and fight to get you the SSI benefits you deserve.
